ST. JOHN / U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS in 4K

[jacob.schwarz]

Shot this for fun. Thought the Red Community might enjoy it. We vacation on St. John every year this year i decided to take our epic, some canon glass, and our glidecam. The trip was still relaxing but his time i had some great footage to take home and share.

Hope you enjoy.

Beautiful stuff, Jacob.

[Pablo Moreno]

Wow!!, it doesn't even look like a Red Epic camera footage, can you share your workflow; what did you use for grading?

[Kirby Hamilton]

Jacob. Nice Stuff!!!!! What glidecam are you using?

[Antony M]

How did you film the stars in the nightshot at 1:11 ?
The longest shutter on the Epic is still only 1 sec, right?
So did you have to boost the ISO to a crazy value in post?

[Bryant Bell]

Looks really great, well done

Thanks for sharing, I can see that you are an experienced colorist as well, that counts a lot, good job.

By the way, when I said that it doesn't look like a red camera footage, what I meant was, that it reminds me the colors of the Canon Mark 5d footage, but better. After all, that's the magic behind the red camera, and its raw footage; you can make it look the way you want it, right?

[Pablo Moreno]

And.. Phil Holland.. I'm a big fan of yours too..

[Jason DeSimone]

Really beautiful Jacob, I used to live in the islands in my early 20's and this really captures the magic and serenity that exists there. Beautiful grade also, really well done overall.

[Phil Holland]

Thanks Jacob and Pablo! This place is just chalked full of good talent.

[Martin Weiss]
