Hi guys, can I put my Scarlet-W like that in my Shinn backpack? I’m asking if the SSD side is strong enough to leave the camera like that when I put my backpack on the ground to open it. Same with the battery when I have my backpack on my back. I can’t find many pictures with fully riged DSMC in a backpack. Is it OK to travel with RED like that? Or do you have any picture of your camera in your backpack? Thank you

I don’t see any reason why that would be problematic. On the ground, you have quite a few layers before it gets to the back of the ICU, plus RED’s are fairly durable. And you probably are fine keeping a battery on the bottom for the same reasons.

Maybe use the lens support piece of fabric and the large velcro strap to add some support/lock the rig into place. If you are still worried put some fabric in the laptop slot that can act as padding.

The lens on camera is probably a bigger risk. And also leaving battery on camera can drain it so it will not take charge. Would try to pack without lens or battery attached even though most of these things are quite durable. a fully packed back gets quite heavy and things get pushed around.
