I need to shoot some video of dinghy sailing from another boat in rough and windy conditions in the Ocean with my Epic. Has anyone had experience using a splashbag like one from EWA Marine with the Epic? I will probably use the Canon mount so as to have smaller diameter lenses.

Does EWA have one yet??
or:
1- gal freezer Zip lock bag: invert, cut hole for lens. Shoot.

Just don't drop it over the side....

Thanks everyone! Charles, nice work! I am shooting my sister who is representing the US in the 2012 Olympics on the 470.

Congrats to your sister! (big sailing fan :) )

thats great news about your sister sailing in the olympics (I'm a huge sailing fan) and silver will be an awesome medal for her to get! (I am australian and traditionally we do pretty well in the 470 class)
No seriously for the first time ever I may have to go for the stars and stripes as it would be great to see a family member of the red family take home the gold!

Did you rent that ASL rig charles? I specialise in sailing and Im hunting for the perfect epic housing but don't need a Gates. Very Nice work on the Extreme 40's I'll be shooting them also along with doing some more onboard Volvo 70 sailing with my old team mate Mike Sanderson.

Abel rents these. This one is a beast, though. It is big enough for a Red One, so it kind of kills the Epic form factor. They make a compact version that I've never seen in person. Might be worth checking out.

We will all be cheering for Amanda in London. She is awesome.

Go USA and Go Shelter Island!

Best of luck with your filming, Greg.

Thanks. I think i need to test one. I don't suppose you have any on this side of the Atlantic do you? Im in the UK right now.

No PVC, I'm shipping an aluminum version to an owner in Manchester this weekend.

If you could hook me up with your client I'd love to take a look. Otherwise I might see you NAB ? Will I?

Will be at NAB - don't know if will have a booth or be in someone else's.

I have the beta housing and it is one of the best ever. Trust me I have used a lot of splash housing and to have your rubber glove in the bag to use just as your hand would be in there its a big help. It also has a viewfinder port or place where you can put the viewfinder and if your in the water shooting at water level this is a must with sun and light situations on the water.
Plus, Mark and Paula are a pleasure when you need answers and help.

Hi Russ/Mark/Scubacam,

I just sent Scubacam an email inquiring about a splashbag for my Epic. Looking for one with SDI output and possibly with the air jet option. Hope to hear from Scubacam soon.

cheers,
e
