We are proud to introduce the “Sync Bob Mega” accessory for the Epic and Scarlet cameras. The Mega in addition to providing convenient BNC connections for Time Code, GenLoc and HD SDI now also incorporates REMOTE POWER ON/OFF and Remote Record/Stop as well as a “D Tap” power connector for accessories or alternate power. The Mega incorporates “light pipes” that transmit the light emanating from the cameras standard power and record LED’s to the exterior of the case. The unit is sold complete with a new and smaller hand control unit incorporating LED’s for camera power and a Tally light recording indicator. The Mega accessory now permits the remote power up of Epics and Scarlets and is especially useful when the cameras are used on crane, cable rigs etc. and are not readily accessible. The distance for control of the camera in the standard wired configuration can extend up to 60 meters or more. The Mega will also accept the new wireless Mega module which will have up to a 900 meter range. This wireless module will be introduced in the near future.
Pricing for the “Sync Bob Mega” with hand control is $1250 with a 4 week delivery.
Unit can be ordered at the “store” at www.spacecam.com

Looks quite nice... am I interpreting what I'm seeing correctly, there's a DC in jack on there for your battery plate and then the Sync Bob Mega sends its own power cable to the camera?

thanks!

Ok.....The dtap connector is located on the forward facing edge of the housing. The 60m range is for the wired version. The 900m range is when the new wireless module is plugged into the Sync Bob Mega. The unit accepts the standard Red Lemo power Lemo and passes this power through to the Epic/Scarlet connector. Power is outputted at the same time to the Dtap. The wireless system will be a bidirectional system displaying radio link functionality as well as record verification to the handset.

We are using a special bi directional radio link. We have conducted tests to a 900m range. The link is very interesting as you can verify the operation of the link before you actually want to power up the camera or initiate recording. This is a valuable asset and can avoid embarrassment on location!

Nice, Ron. I like the braided cable too... I might get one of these just to have my DC jack located in a more accessible location. Some of the cables I use get really contorted coming off a battery plate.

The question I always wonder the answer to is Is there no right-angle version of the connector that would work?

The only big question I have left is exactly what are the screws mounting to... if it's replacing the screws going into the brain, is there a possibility of a version or adapter to allow it to attach to an existing side plate or tactical ribs?
Thanks!
