Something New....

256GB SSD drives now in stock ready to order. Red.com

Wow! Great news!
I ordered 4 x 128 Gb cards, will the 256´s ship right now?
I can´t wait to get my MX´ed R1 set up with this!

Jarred, is this something I can order and install now? Can I install it myself?

Red One 1.8 SSD Module + one 256 GB SSD?

Great, I also ordered a bunch of 128gb ones but were told they were weeks away, I just ordered a couple of 256's. can I change my 128's to 256's as well and get them quicker?

We have a 3D movie starting soon (hopefully on Epic M's) and would love to have 20 256gb cards on hand ASAP.

I ordered 2- 128 GB SSD's and module for RED One the day it was on the website, any idea on when they will ship??? I'm confused as to why I haven't heard anything...If the 256's are available now for immediate shipment why aren't the 128gb SSD's.

Thanks for your help.

I just stained my pants.... Now ordering. :biggrin5:

Yes, you can install it yourself. Just like upgrading your CF module way back when, to support 16GB cards. It's a simple swap.

I would also like to change my order for 128GB SSDs to 256GB SSDs if possible.

Is that cool?

No delivery schedule difference between 128 and 256 at this moment. Don't let "which one will I get faster?" influence your decision...

If you want to change from 128 to 256, email your BOMB SQUAD rep right away. If we have not start the order processing, you can still switch.

Correct, it is actually even easier than the CF module upgrade.. there was few extra steps with that replacement where you had to unscrew the side module, then unscrew the card reader from that module, screw the new reader in, then screw the whole module back onto the camera.

The SSD is a simple unscrew bolts, remove complete module, and screw new complete module back in.

can't wait!!!

Speaking of unscrewing bolts Jarred -what's the word with the red ones we saw in earlier pics? Will those be available through Red, or is there a 3rd party provider?

The Trilogy is complete.

Jarred what would you expect to be the minimum recording times that we could get for the 64, 128, and 256GB SSD drives using the scarlet 3K mode.

I know its variable bitrate so lets say we were shooting at the absolute limit of the codec the entire time...how much footage would you think we could get on these cards?

(oh and if you wouldnt mind telling me how long you expect a red brick to be able to power a dsmc brain+ ssd module + Redmote module that would be awesome too)

3k RC 7:1 = ~ 50-55min on a 64GB SSD

These SSDs look like a candy! :)

When can we expect a new lcd touchscreen monitors? Will they work on RED ONE as a non-touchscreens?

cool 7:1 compression isnt bad at all...what is going to be the heaviest compression we would be allowed to use? 10:1...25:1? And what would recording times look like for that?

Im guessing 25:1 would give us roughly 3 hours of record time on the 64GB...12 on the 256? I am sorry if my math is off...if so please correct me
