  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

So, the world hates redheads huh?

Born and raised in Scotland. My "red" has faded to grey, but my son has a "red" beard and looks like a viking: he says "that look helps when you are a heavy metal drummer."

Jeff, she might have just looked like a gorilla, in the mist.


And let's not forget the strain of Red heads throughout Italy: descendants of a certain Irish monk who made the journey to spread the word - and other things it would seem.
 
Theres a lot of minority groups out there probably laughing there heads off over this thread.

RED heads.. Jeeezzzz!, you guys would be at the bottom of the cringe list no?

I can't ever see RED HEADs being part of mass genocide as others have faced over the last 3000 years.

I think your all safe to roam the world for the next 3000 years knowing you wont be hung, shot, burned, vaccinated or gased...

What a silly thread! I hope who ever started this one was joking.

I have the exact same thing Graeme. Norse, Dane, and Scotts-Irish heritage and only in the beard. Funny how that works.

It's a relatively rare gene, recessive trait, 1% global, more prevalent in Northern climes, 5-6% and skips generations... it's not going anywhere soon but also less likely seen on Maui, just by google-ethnicity-stats.

Still. I love me a redhead. I have yours on my H4n and lots of reds in the family, my mom's one - but no reds on my wife's side for generations AFAIK, so we didn't make one either.
 
As long as there are beauty parlors there will always be redheads.

I started it. Did you not read post #1? Not joking, nor was I comparing to such extreme examples... WOW. Having been in Bosnia in 94-95, I know something about genocide. Not comparing.

But redheads are the biggest minority group on the planet, representing only 2% of the global population.

Mark, throughout history, reds were killed in all sorts of ways because of their hair color. On the lighter side, EVERY red grew up bullied/teased/harassed/etc just because of our hair. Not a big deal of course, just saying.


BTW - doesn't always skip generations. My nana, mom, me and two sisters are reds...
 
Maybe this is what is causing all the backlash against red heads. It is disturbing!
