Since the Raptor and Komodo share the new EXT port, I tried using SmallHD Camera Control on my Cine 7 and V-Raptor. Got an error message along the lines of "camera is not currently supported" which was a slight bummer but sounds promising in regards to future support.

I'm sure they'll try to sell you a new activation code once Raptor is supported, even though it's likely the same protocol and everything as Komodo camera control.

Hoping they don't only have camera control on the DSMC3 Touch monitor as a way to force you to buy it (or the eventual ultrabrite version). I already have one on order as part of my Raptor Starter Pack, and I'm still hoping that I'll be able to have camera control on both monitors. Especially since people's SmallHD Indie/Cine/Focus monitors will likely be relegated to a 1st AC side monitor after the DSMC3 Touch arrives, and you'd want them to have access to camera controls beyond the side panel.

Hard to know if it's a "sell a new activation" or simply a firmware update that's needed at the moment. It is RCP2 for sure. It's also unclear if what the DSMC3 screen does is "exclusive". I think at the moment it's so new that nothing else is out yet really.

I'm currently running without touch. However, RED Control via wired and wireless connection is pretty damn good. Latency when connected to a good modern phone via physical cable is pretty low. Still recommending dedicated SDI or DSMC3 style displays though for primary operation.

We'll have to see what happens with the DSMC3 display ships really. I'm also curious if that EXP port allows for 2 displays. Also curious if we ever see a 5" version. Also curious who makes an EVF with that cable standard. All things being so new, hard to really predict a bunch of that.

DSMC2 really focused on "cableless". I certainly get why we have the 15mm/USB-C-style cable solution now for ease of placement and repositioning. We added bulk to the cameras to have that cabled flexibility before and it makes sense how we got here. But I really don't want more than one cable per display to deal with. There are a good number of people who run touch screen and EVF. This camera is smaller, but people will still want that.

Well it works on my Focus 5 ST edition (but the SDI on the monitor needs repair)

Unfortunately on my Cine7 it works for a split second and the crashes.
