SmallHD Cine 7 - On-Camera Monitor with ARRI Camera Control (RED & Sony Coming Soon)

[jake southard]

Ordered one for my Gemini that will be arriving in a couple days with the camera control. Interested to see how well it works. Will update later

SmallHD has the Cine 7 RX on sale. Does anyone know if this allows dual feed monitoring? Such as monitoring the wireless and the SDI input at the same time? I believe the 703 Wireless allowed this, but I never had a chance to test it.

Another follow up, Small HD has replaced the monitor.

Which is good.

(Still frustrating to have to chase them for License Keys... and all the courier costs are on me...)

Will see how this one goes, hopefully the first one was just a bad unit.

Ours works fine. But do not use the Red controll.

Well, the camera control on my unit is acting up again. The monitor itself is awesome and the control is good when it's working...but man it just isn't reliable. Going to use it as an onboard and control the camera via my 7" touch or sidekick. Glad I got mine when they did the free camera control promo or else I'd be storming down their doors.

Also my control cable arrived barely working and frayed in multiple places. SmallHD still has yet to reply to my many tickets I submit online. I've called too and they say there's nothing they can do, that I must submit a ticket online. The phone support folks are so nice and understanding, but it's tough when they aren't allowed to help fix real issues. It's maddening but I'm just giving up on them for now for support. Buyer be warned.
