I already own two Canon LP-6 batteries. Can anyone tell me:

(1) Can the monitor run on a single battery?
(2) If so, for how long?
(3) Assuming it can run on one battery, is run time with two exactly twice as long as with one?

Can't find answers to either question at the Small HD website and wanted to order before tomorrow.

It can definitely run on one battery. Maybe for an hour or so. I bought a D-Tap adapter instead of using a bag full of batteries.

Hi Bob, Thanks for the info. I was hoping for longer than an hour on one battery. I googled to see how to translate mAh to Wh so I could see what theoretical run time would be. It's not a pristine mathematical conversion, apparently, because there are a lot of real world variables. But the theoretical time for a true LP-E6 (1800 mAh), assuming sustained 7.2 volts and an 8 watt draw per small HD website, would be, if I have things correct:

(1800 x 7.2)/(1000 x 8)

That comes out to 1.62 hours, so your estimate was close enough.

This was apparently added to the Small HD site just today because it wasn't there when I ordered at 6 AM. Had it been, I would have snagged it and I'm sure I still will although it won't make it into my box for shipping today. So close.:-)

Chris, thanks so much for organizing this group buy. I'm so glad I held off on a small monitor suitable for camera top or mobile focus. I kept asking why someone wouldn't just come up with a way to leverage the great cell phone HD screens and form factor out there for a beautiful, sharp, and extremely lightweight monitor, and finally someone did, even though I can't make calls on it.:-)

I am interested...where do I get the coupon code? (I checked the first page already)

Thanks, Chris!

FWIW- the coupon code doesn't discount the LP-E6 DTap adapter or any other accessories a-la-carte.

Maybe this is mentioned earlier in the thread, but the code only works on the 502 solo or the 502 bundle.

That's correct.

Hey Chris, please add me to the list. Thanks!

Please provide me with the code :). I'm in for the bundle.

Thanks
