Ketch,

Could you link us some pictures of your Dito Slider in use? I'm having a hard time understanding exactly how large it is (looks extremely thin in the photos they have on their site).

None available Brendan, it wasn't mine, and no one tucked pics that day, but as I said, as soon as I shoot with it again, aI'll be sure to have pics and or even a vid taken to post.

Hey David,

Is this for the Omnislider bundle only, or are we able to possibly get the discount for the Modulo as well? The latter looks comparable to the Myt slider a few had been interested in.

The Modulo is way weaker than the OmniSlider (see specifications). But I will ask if the discount also applies for it.

For everyone considering the OmniSlider, it's important to know that you can't operate it manually (from their FAQ):

"Can DitoGear™ OmniSlider be operated manually? No, unfortunately not. The slider is driven using a stepper or The slider is driven using a stepper or servo motor and even if the power is disconnected, the motor and gearbox generate resistance, so the movements won’t be fluent."

Not sure I understand what's going on here 100%, but I'm guessing we are all going to pick a slider to purchase in bulk and thus save some money for all of us?

If that is the case, I'd be stoked to go with the MYT model.

How much money would we be potentially saving though?

EDIT: On second look, I think the Cineped looks even more appealing because of the fact that it can be setup with just one tripod pretty quickly. How much could we get that one for?

Please reserve me for both?

James I think you can set up the MTY slider with one tripod but you can only use the 3ft in length ones.. I think that is what I read on their site..Check out their site.

I just don't like the idea of having to buy a whole different tripod that can withstand that kind of side to side weight of a 20 lb rig whereas Cinepod seems to come with one. I also adore it's rotating ability.

Still love both though.

Just got of the phone with MYT works. Their offer sounds pretty good, but they are still working on it. Other manufacturers have to contact their local dealers, since they sometimes have exclusive rights to sell them. CinePed also sent me a pretty good offer for their package.

I'll post all of them on Monday, since some of them are still getting changed to fit our needs.

Cheers
David

I know Cinevate was on the list..if you're interested in an Atlas 30 (great slider), I have a great connection with them and could probably get a substantial group discount. It looks like you guys are all leaning towards another, but let me know .

I'm in contact with Dan from Cinevate and he's working on an offer.

Im pretty sure you can use a very simple tripod and a light stand, or C stand on the other end to use for support. Sorry not just endorsing MTY but I have been looking for a slider for about a year now and have see quite a few. I like the CinePod also but to lug around the tripod that only works with the Cinepod seems like extra gear that I don't want to have to have. And I wonder what the total weight is on the Cinepod compared to the MTY.
I like the DidoGear also but need a tripod that works manually as well as driven by a motor setup. I know the MYT does have a motor setup.... YET.. but I could figure out something in the mean while..

Actually Cineped slider weighs more than the Quattro legs..39lbs....pretty damn heavy..

But you can also put the rotational slider on any mitchell or 150/100 bowl tripod.
Check the very end of the very bottom video to see this.
They make different packages..pedestal...etc.

Cineped Rotational Slider
39 lbs / 17.7 kg

This is probably the nicest slider system on the market today; it’s sturdy, portable and versatile.
Plus, it just looks sexy. The cineped slider will work for anything from a 5D to a fully loaded 3D rig
providing a rock solid base that can be swiveled 360 degrees.
The slider itself mounts on a Mitchell base so it can be used with a wide variety of sticks and can even go on a dolly for even more range of motion.

Actually it's not so much just a slider but more an alternative to traditional pan and tilt static motion tripod sticks.

How about the Mathews DC Slider? That device looks pretty sweet. Anyone have any first hand experience?
