  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Slider for Epic?

Take a look at the GLIDECAM VISTATRACKS.

Didn't see you guys release this one. On the dual track system has there been any thought of integrating a 100 or 150mm bowl adapter?

I contacted Dito Gear and MYT about a group buy, but will also today write a mail to Kessler and some other brands.[/QUOT

Yea no Kessler thanks, done that and gone way pass by those type of sliders!

But if you do get a Dito Gear Group Buy do let me know so I don't pursue it any longer, thanks.

And yes, I really do mean that Kessler and Dito Gear don't really belong in the same thread, two absolutely completely different type of Build quality, were the Dito Gear is a truly super well done and extremely solid piece of gear and an incredible Servo Motor with precision controls to fit any production needs even those using heavy 3D rigs.

I revived my blog which I created for the steadicam group buy. A first offer from DitoGear is already in and on the blog. The offer is password protected. Write me to get the password.

Ketch, have you already used the OmniSlider and can post some footage? Their product looks great, but kind of "slim" for a fully rigged out Epic or RED one.

Hi David,

Yes I have and for this I am saying that there is on equally strong, powerful, quite in low speed mode, and simply well designed slider as the Dito Gear Omnislider, but sorry, no footage to show.

BTW, the offer you got form them is a good one indeed, I have ben in contact with them as well, and for any Slider products or any other group buys, I would not have done anything less then a possibly 20%+ depending on unit, and you got Reduser a great deal!

At NAB this year I checked out Polly Systems from Germany. I must admit, I thought it was the coolest and efficient slider ever! Well... technically its a dolly. The big idea is that it uses a flywheel for momentum.

How does the Polly feel as a regular slider i.e. when changing the speed?

You just push it to the speed you want and it pretty much stays constant. It's super smooth as long at there is no vibration around the fluid head.

Despite a very suscesful Kessler Group Buy I did few of years ago, for me there is only one Slider now... Dito Gear, built solid, strong, great looking and incredibly powerful motor.

Hi Ketch

Been testing the Dito Gear for some days and having a hard time making it smooth when running my Scarlet w. mattebox and a Zeiss lens - it makes my camera shake some place down the slider - I've tried several different ways to mount and sandbag the slider - how is your experience with this..?

Hi Frederik,

are you using the stepper or the servo version?

Cheers
David

Their previous version, especially the 2m was like that on Video, but with the new Servo Motor, I have not experienced such thing, very smood.

Ok, I've tested the 1,5 meter servo version here in Copenhagen - rented it from my local Film Gerar rental.... Gave it some wd40-sprayoil and it helped out some but not perfect..

UPDATE:

UPDATE:

So I ended up purchasing a Rhino Gear Pro Slider. Just finished testing it out and it's a rock solid piece of hardware! Highly recommend it!
