  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

shut up and shoot that Scarlet

I shot an ad for a whisky distiller today.
It was a fun shoot - tried to keep everything pretty natural and slick.
Anyways - here are some grabs :)

It was subsequently my last shoot before my Epic upgrade.
It was also the first time a director insisted we make use of 1k 120fps... The Macro shot of the honey and the Coffee beans...
It actually turned out pretty well but I can't wait to not have to sacrifice resolution for frame rate!
I'll just need to invest in more redmags!
haha.

cheers
D

PS. I didn't embed the high quality version from flickr. I used their "Large" option which is 1024x427.

Deon very inspiring :)

Sometimes I point my Scarlet out the window and just get lost in the view....

Wow, nice images everyone.

Just for the sake of completion, here are the last of those leafy tree shots -

These were all shot with the Leica 35mm Summarit-M/Scarlet-X 5K 12fps 6:1 combination. The Summarit doesn't have the dreamy Summilux look and it's sharpness can be a bit harsh, but it's still a nice lens imo.

Matt, this is awesome stuff as usual! :) wow!
What lenses did you use?

Awesome!! What was the ratio that you used on this? 5K 3:1?

This forum-section has way too much threads that go into the direction "i've bought a scarlet but i want more, for free, right now". You know what i mean. ;) But Scarlet-X is a phantastic camera and it's time to showcase that a bit more often. So, i've taken Gunleik's great thread as inspiration and created this one. But unlike Gunleik's thread this is meant for everyone.Let's use it all together to post various still frames, links to your work and whatnot. Bring on the Scarlet eye-candy!

I'll start with a few frames from my very first, a bit more serious, test-shoot. Please be gentle, they're not the best, i was quite new to the whole thing. And on top of that, i had just one lens and the basic-kit (2 REDVOLTs, 1 64GB Mag), not even a tripod. ;) I did not expect to get any good footage, but afterwards i was a bit surprised here and there. This day somehow assured me, that this is what i want to do and that my move to get a professional camera and sacrificing a lot for it was right

Hehehe. Cool! Thanks Matt. Again it's most often HOW you use the equipment and not WHICH equipment you use ;) great stuff!

Fun video Lassiter, made me smile. I did think the camera lingered a bit too long on the feet and the girls smiling face, but even so, I liked the off-beat nature of it all and thought it worked well overall (the camera movement, colour and subject-matter). Thanks.
