  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Shot with a Scarlet today.

Timur you deserve a turkish delight with a turkish coffee ...how's that sound for you buddy :)

Its funny, I don't really like either..... haha, I'll take midye dolma and cay.

What is a hassy?

Had the pleasure of shooting with a scarlet today. DPed a short. Not my camera.

The camera had only a LCD screen and a Brick battery. The Side handle had not arrived, and the there was no BOMB EVF. It's a bit clunky in that configuration but it worked, smoothly and reliably despite the cold.

Things i like: (obviously the image is amazing...)
1: The size was amazing. Especially capturing 4k RAW in 16bit. even in the smallest form you can still capture maximum quality. Awesome.
2: The Ti PL mount is simply a work of art.
3: location of run stop buttons. EXACTLY where you think they will be. Blind and having picked up the camera for the first time....
4: The LCD image is quite nice to looks at, and the lay out of the menus is cool.

Things i Dont like:
1: When you hold it like a Hassy, a jet of hot air goes up your nose from the heat sink. Annoying.
2: without a side handle, its practically impossible to have a secure grip on it. (the Side handle should be mandatory and come with the camera)

Thats about it....

That's also what I guessed but I couldn't be sure. As a courtesy to everyone here, I won't make up and use cute little names for things so we don't waste forum space trying to figure it out.

Mitch- how stable is your LCD in this config? Seems that with only one mounting point it'd be likely to swivel and loosen. I'm intrigued, as the V-Mount/Top Handle/5" Touch combo seems to be a tricky one!

Hello Mitch, I like your configuration. I can't tell by looking at the picture how you managed to secure the LCD touchscreen...can you give a hint?

Hey mate...thanks for sharing. Whats that mount, that Brooks AB plate? Whats your thoughts on that...I am looking into some power options.

Yea, its a brook VF plate. Its nice. Pprobably gonna get one of those.

I too need to figure out a power system.

I really like your setup, Mitch. Does anybody know if the Wooden Camera Easy Plate would let you mount the LCD at the front through both holes and the Wooden Camera top handle behind it?

I don't think there's enough room for what you're talking about. And DEFINITELY the top handle would hit the back battery if it was back any further. Right now I have the handle the furthest forward it can be on the easy stick.

Someone else asked if the LCD screen is loose and swivels with just one screw. Not at all, it's rock solid actually.

Actually..... I shoot the scarlet LCD screen with a pixelvision p9000. That's how all the RAWs get in the cassette....

Yes, it will work. That is how I usually have things setup with my Scarlet right now.

You would have more room on that plate if you turn the base of that LCD 180 degrees wouldn't you?

Thats what I was thinking too, can't you mount the LCD base reverse so it gets further forward? or is the standard cable too short? does the handle mounted like this clear a V-lock battery when attached to its back?

so many options not sure what to order for a best quick config...
