  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Shot on RED - Raven

Quickly put together a few shots from my first shoot with the Raven. All the info is in the description. Very slight color grade in Premiere. Can't release the files publicly or make it downloadable, sorry, I need to keep it private and respect the client.

But damn I'm impressed with it!!! :yesnod:

Nice work Michael! I especially liked the skin tones. What did you use to color grade this video?

Really nice work man! 24-105...come to show that a lens do not make the man ;-) looking very good!

However, the vimeo clip I'm seeing has a ton of banding and generally image quality on vimeo is not good (vimeo is going down hill at the moment). Any chance you could please add a downloadable version of this? and if possible 4K or maybe even 1080p prores?

Absolutely, i'm currently on the rode but when I return home Ill upload a 4k uncompressed version, have been having a hell of a time to get a good image with no banding on Vimeo at 4k.

Thanks! I use the Lumetri color in Premiere, that's it! The new upgrade is really good - being able to edit the raw file inside CC saves lots of time.

shot on Red Raven with Sigma 18-35mm and GDU 24mm
Good work! would you care to share some more info:

why would you use the GDU 24 if you already got the Sigma 18-35?

The camera movement felt a bit loose, did you use a heavy duty tripod or something more lightweight?

Did you shoot 4.5K or 4K?

Thanks.

4.5K WS

It was Manfrotto 509 Head but in directors hands so...

GDU 24 was mounted on Ronin M setup but director choose not to use it and it was a bit of a rush so some shots were done from a ronin but as locked off

I wanted to share some stills from a shoot that I did yesterday on the Raven. We shot natural light and did not manipulate practicals. Sparkler still extracted from 120fps footage.

Damn nice! Love the skin tones from my Raven too. Was it ISO 800? 3:1? I am thinking of getting another Rokinon, the 50mm as I have the 35 and 85mm which are both awesome.

Awesome work.

What lenses were you shooting on? Noise looks fairly minimal in your sparkler scene. Impressive.

All Rokinos staying away from wide open- 85,24,14

Hello, here are some shoot from my raven Canon 50mm 1.4 and canon 18-35. ISO 500 REDCODE 18:1 4.5K 25Fps.

These are officially the best images I've seen from the Raven - super impressive that it's from natural light. It would be amazing to see some footage when you can. I've been trying to convince myself that I don't need the Raven but these images are convincing me otherwise!

EDIT: Sorry, lost my brain for a sec.

Taylor,
I enjoyed your short. It's quite beautiful in moments and intension. Also, I love your Raven name.
