Shot 5K 2:1 but we are finishing 16x9, what is the recommended workflow for this?

Shoot 5k 2:1 with 16X9 framing. Change the framing setting in the Framing tab to 16x9 (crop 2560x4551). Export your reframed shots in 1920x1080 in your preferred codec for editing. Reconform in what ever color station you have.

You didn't say what resolution you were finishing in 16x9, but I assume 1080P.

Yeah 1080p, any benefit to finish in 2k?

1920x1080 is the 16x9 2k format. So it's usuable for both. Or you choose to change framing to 1:1,85 (to have 1998) or 1:1,89 to have 2048 horizontal pixel count.

The question is more should you finish in quadHD or in HD keeping the 16x9 ratio?

I see 2k 16X9 listed as 2048h 1152v?

For TV I would make the material 2:1 with 1080 in height and then drop it into a 1920x1080 timeline with "crop edges" then you have the extra material on the sides for "pan in scan".

Do people do a Full Container 2K DCP and what would be the reason?
