We just shot my new short film, titled 'Vampiro', with a Dragon and Zeiss standard optics.

We shot 6K to use the central 5k 2:39, to avoid vignetting and looking for the sensor equivalent to S35. The extra room has proved invaluable to adjust framing in editing.

We used the Low Light OLPF, since I like the colors better than the Skin one and we had not a standard OLPF.

I will update this post regularly with new stuff as the thing progresses. For now, just a couple of frames, not the most exciting ones yet.

Previous shot, with the title and a first look at the leading lady. Click for full res.

New pic, new attempt of sky replacement. It's a nice and very effective way to unify exterior shots with different weather conditions. Click on image for full res.

- 09/march/2016

Sky was very dull on the day of shooting, so it has been replaced in both of these. You can still tell, it needs further finessing. Click on the link for full res.

Very nice. Any filtration?

Thanks!

About the filtration, not really, just ND, the lenses are kinda organic looking per se. We didn't even use an IR filter, 'cause the DP said the LL OLPF cuts IR effectively.

There's a couple of shots with some condensation in the rear element of the lens and it looks like heavy filtration. I didn't notice it for an hour or so, because my monitor was 5'' wide.

Looks absolutely beautiful. Wish more feature films shot on Red would pay this much attention to visual style and color. Great work.

Quick update for the short film. Last month we finally premiered at the Gijón International Film Festival and for the occasion we have put together a teaser trailer.

It's on Vimeo, in glorious UHD. Hope you like it!

PS: the line 'something happened' gets a new meaning in the trailer.
