We have a Red Epic camera.

We're looking at alternatives to the Red Clutch camera rig. We want something universal, flexible, buildable and super user friendly- suitable for handheld and shoulder.

We're looking at:
Element Technica - Mantis?
x
P+S Technik
ARRI S-2

What's the best one out there and why?

Thanks!

I made a lot of my choice on rig through budget as I had run out of money after buying the camera - but I honestly could not be happier.
Having tried a lot of the other options on the market, I am really happy that I went for a dovetail solution - having it on the rails can be cumbersome and annoying during lens changes without a swing away and when needing to switch quickly from handheld to legs.

The reason I am so happy with the WC rig is that it is extremely solid and does not budge even under pressure, shooting out the back of a car and holding on for dear life and managed to keep it very steady.
The build quality is great and the leather handles are a nice touch, I wanted something compact, solid and this has really met my needs.

Looks fairly front heavy, Jordan - how d'you find that for long takes?

My concern with the WC rig is, although solid, to pack up/unpack requires tools/screws to take the cushion off..

It definitely gives the arms a little workout, Personally I like a set up that requires me to still hold the weight a little bit, I find it keeps me more stable.
I agree it is a little too front heavy though, once I get a longer monitor cable I will be able to mount the camera further back on the rig giving it a little more central weight.

With regards to packing, I leave the it built fold the hands flat and then it becomes a very manageable size, its all personal opinions and set ups though isnt it, I reckon the best way is to rent a few play with them and see what suits your style.
