Shooting during 8 hours

I'm just asking something, i will need to shoot eight 1-hour interviews next week and i was wondering if the Red is really made for this kind of job. Everything is gonna be in Pro Res 1080p. Is somebody already tried to shoot all day long?

Heh. Those of us who have filmed 16+ hour days, well yeah. Works all day and night if needed.

That you *haven’t* used your camera for that long seems odd... But I digress.

...Something to consider is that you’re better off setting your Fan to ‘Adaptive’, if it’s on something else. It might be a bit louder on average, but it’ll be consistent. If it’s set to, ‘Adaptive Quiet Record’, and you’ve never recorded for ~1hour+ duration, you run the risk of the fan kicking into high gear midway though the interview.

Abelcine has there REDs running all day I'm sure you'll be fine. When i'm filming it's normally 12-16hr days (with DSMC1 brains) just make sure the fans are on adaptive.

I have shot 30 hours in a single shot for dozens of times now. It works.

That's how I get 2400+ runtime hours easily within 2 years. Not a single hiccup. Better shoot R3D, but make sure the monitor sharpening are 0% when using ProRes.
