Can't seem to find the Portkeys BM5 for Komodo anywhere. Looking for alternative SDI monitors that are bright. Do you think the Atomos Shinobi 7 inch monitor would look too weirdly large on the small Komodo body?

I think it's a matter of personal taste and your use case, but I'd wager plenty of Komodo owners use them with 7" monitors. Haven't tried the Shinobi, but I find that the SmallHD 702 Bright and SmallHD Indie 7" monitors work fine for me. (That said, would probably have bought the Portkeys myself if it were easy to find.)

As for alternatives to Portkeys, SmallHD also makes a 5" ultrabright model, the 503. Doesn't have camera control capability.

I bought two Shinobi's that were both dead on arrival, and when I finally got a working one, the screen was absolute crap. The SmallHD monitors are closer to fully calibrated out of the box, I think. Either way, I've been super happy with my Cine7 and Indie7 ever since getting rid of the Atomos crap. Stick with SmallHD. Also, no, I don't think a 7" is crazy for Komodo. It's all about what you're rigging it for, but, personally, I find a 5" to be too small on any camera if you're trying to pull focus.
