has to be a scam of some kind, or the seller is trying to get around ebay fees... possibly a hot camera? Looks like they don't know how to use a cartoni head, and the repeated message of contacting the seller before you bid seems odd.

Actually I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that it's usually a scam when they say "contact me first or I'll cancel your bid" because when you email them they try and get your card information or whatever. They claim that they "would rather do the transaction outside of ebay because of the paypal fees, blah blah"

Total scam. I saw the same style of ad a couple of weeks ago and the ebay user had previously only sold golf items.

But, it's an interesting question - you say no credit card, but why? Unlike bank accounts, most credit cards do not hold consumers liable for fraudulent charges, so if the seller tries to pull a fast one, I'm covered no?

I emailed the seller and told him his account had been stolen, he confirmed. Watch out for other film equipment from this particular scammer.
