  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

So this is ALL my fault for being alone...

But after today, I have a fully copied mag (but not visually verified, obviously... One Man Band and it won't be worse than "sad" if I lose the files)

But in RCX, they say they are "offlline"

Now... The files are definitely on the disks. The copy went ok...

STill says "offline" for all but the 1st clip...

Any ideas?

I'll try opening them in Resolve, and possibly copy them back to a card to see if they play in camera, but...

Anyone ever seen this?

Cheers!

You have the files on two drives? They're doing the same thing on each drive?

Have you restarted the computer? Restarted RCP-X?

I can tell you I did have a similar issue with a NanoFlash once; popping the CF card back into the NanoFlash and then ejecting it did fix the issue. But those weren't Red files and that wasont' a Red device. Still, not beyond the realm of possibility that it could help.

Well. As I said, If anyone came with this issue, I would ridicule them for not doing the visual verify after copy... :)

As this was really mostly for stills, though, I'd love to see if there was some way to access te files (as they are here), even if some/all of them are corrupt...

Original media is gone.

So I have done exactly what one shouldn't :)

but it's kinda weird, as it says the clips are "offline"...

Thanks for your response BTW. I'll try copying the files back to an ssd to check if they play in the camera...

Hmm. I get the "OFFLINE" message if I pull a mag from the reader. Or if I put files into a Project, and then disconnect the source media (either properly or just unplug it). From a computational standpoint, OFFLINE indicates "Hey, the index says there should be a clip over here. But there's no clip over here. So the best I can do is tell you that there's SUPPOSED to be a clip over here."

So, (and yes, everything I'm suggesting is remedial stuff you have probably already done, but I know you know what you're doing in most cases, so it's often the simple remedial solutions guys like us overlook) are you certain you're looking in the right place in RCP-X? You're looking at the source drive and not the Project or the Bin? Can you pull the clips into a Project or Bin? Same result?

I think you have corrupted the files and the "End of File" locators aren't in the files. Try Redundead first and if that doesnt help, Copy the files onto another drive and try the Sandisk disk utility tat comes with Sandisk media cards.

I have had a client come in with a card doing similar things with canon files and i fixed them with the Sandisk utility. At worst if you have a clip that is 10 sec long it may be able to get back 5 or 6 seconds and it repairs the EOF(end of file) of the clip.
