  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Seika Corporation and RED Digital Cinema have entered into an Authorized Seller Agreement, which makes Seika Corporation the first authorized reseller for the company.

This collaboration will allow RED Digital Cinema to both grow sales and provide enhanced local support for customers in the Asia region.

This is fantastic news! Where in Asia are they based? When are they likely to begin selling RED equipment.

Great news, though this probably means that prices will increase, no?

I thought one of the reasons RED sold their gear themselves was to keep prices down.

If you guys need a reseller in Korea, please let me know. I see a huge market for Scarlet when it comes out.

More will come... Seika has been a close partner with RED since day one so it was an obvious first step. We are lucky to have also aligned with many other great resellers over the last couple years and are excited to work with them when we are ready.
 
Any idea of where we will be able to actually find people who can take orders and help for maintenance ? Only Japan ?

Look like Seika has branches in main asian countries :
- Taiwan / Taipei
- Korea / Seoul
- China / Shenzhen & Shanghai


If i can buy my scarlet in Shanghai, i will be ...:party:

Seika Corporation's branch in Tokyo is where they are located - however, they are happy to take orders throughout Asia. We will give you a contact person for orders through them shortly.

This is great news. Asia has a big film/media industry, and thus far it has been quite a challenge getting RED cameras to the Asian countries. I hope more resellers are announced in the big regions of Asia - Middle East, Indian subcontinent, China, etc.

P.S.: Especially for Scarlet - a regular distribution channel will be much desired.
