  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Seika Asia becomes first authorized RED reseller

I thought we can have reseller in India since we've more number of cameras in use and in for future.

Hope we get one.

Reseller and service support in India

Reseller and service support in India

Hi,
India will be one of the biggest market for Red Product(..if it isnt as yet...). So a reseller and service center is a must for all the Reds,Epics,Scarlets coming to India.
(I know the pain it is to reexport the camera or parts for repairs to Red in USA)
Harcharan

More will come... Seika has been a close partner with RED since day one so it was an obvious first step. We are lucky to have also aligned with many other great resellers over the last couple years and are excited to work with them when we are ready.

Great news, proud of you guys.

Hi Jim,
Why not come to Hong Kong? no import tax here.
otherwise we need to pay more than 18% import tax (as I know) buy from China (if Shanghai)....... Taipei also......... :-(

When RED goes public I promise to buy at least $10,000 worth of shares straight away

The only reason to go public is to raise funds to grow the company, giving up at least partial control, and be beholden to shareholders and speculators whose primary motive is profit at all costs. RED has no need or desire to do this as far as I can see.

yes, but not Lemac Australia (no offense) but their make ups are ridiculous!

In all fairness its not only lemac that has ridiculous mark ups in this country. I most likely would NEVER buy a high ticket item from any Australian dealers because of their price gouging. But thats for another thread.

India needs to have a service and reseller center for RED. Their has been an increase in films shot on red-one and scarlett is going to be dynamic in this vast Indian film industry. If not INDIA, then atleast SINGAPORE for us INDIANS. CHINA for us as a reseller and service will not work smoothly given our present political atmosphere.

I agree, that is a huge opportunity to get your foot in the door in a country whose own "Bollywood" is constantly producing films.

Don't forget the small countries like New Zealand either!:001_tt2:

I can see a lot of requests for resellers in India. I would once again like to point this out. India is the largest maker of feature films in the world, by far, at over 1000 films per year (and rising). That is more than double of Hollywood. At the same time, the average budget is a fraction that of a Hollywood film, and the cost savings from a digital cinema camera could be a massive boost.

Currently, the export laws and customs procedure are a pain, and it is a massive problem getting a RED in India. So, yes, there's immense potential if a proper reseller and service system is set up in India.

Singapore or Hong Kong would be a good choice..

P.s. :sifone: :sifone: :sifone:
But I think I have a better solution for customs, which will satisfy all:
A satellite based authorized RED reseller that goes around the world on a certain schedule.
And since those RED guys are amazing they can invent a RED Dimensional teleportation machine.
So we can just put the RED camera on the roof and it will be teleported to the center and back.
No more headaches.. :sifone: :sifone: :sifone:

Don't forget South America.

Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Mexico City and Santiago would be great picks.

One question : When Epic then scarlet will be released, will this international resellers network be ready and operational ? In other words, can we place pre-order from Seika for instance, in the same time we'll be able to do it from red webshop ?

Second question (especially if red webshop were to be the first to take preorder months before resselers can do) :
- Can we order from red website and get it delivered in one of those resellers center ?
- How will warranty work at international level ? Can i just buy my scarlet in USA and have it checked, repaired or whatever i need ... in my local authorized reseller's place ?

Thanks in advance,
Yannick

Hello all Red users !
I am Itakura (maki).I work for Seika Co. Our company located in japan.
We start to sale and support in Japan and next step for Asia countries.
If you have a question, please contact to me.
Seika wish to do good support for yours in Asia !
Hey Maki!

Congratulations first off.

I have a couple of questions about sales:

1. Will prices for Red equipment match USD/JPY conversion or will you have markup?

2. If there is markup, will it come to less than the cost of shipping and customs of ordering directly from Red in the U.S.?

3. Can we bring our cameras to you for service even if we bought them from Red directly? I ask this because before you have only supported those who bought through you under your third party purchase system.

Thanks!

Paul

Thank you for many questions and requests.
Seika and RED are just started to sales contract for REDONE products line.
Next step is a EPIC and we will be announced Japanese price soon.
(Please wait to Asian International price)
Technical support, we are still discussing for CSC (Certificate Support Center) program. After the CSC contact, we can announce more detail information.
