Hello people,

i recently arrived in LA and i`m looking to learn how to use the Red one camera, does anyone know of any courses one can take in the Los Angeles area.

Much appreciated,

cours to operate camera or cinematography?

These courses straightened me out. Worth every penny. Got me up and running within a matter of hours. Check them out and their amazing RED courses.

As an update Mike Seymore from fxguide.com has years of experience in post production and has had red #22 for nearly a year now and has thoroughly tested it in all kinds of conditions. His knowledge is immense and can provide a lot more information than trolling these boards for weeks. He has very firm contacts with red, so the knowledge is future proofed. There's an old chinese saying that states; five minutes with a wise man is better than ten years of education. If you have trouble understanding the concepts of this camera, want to run it at it's best or want more information and not get lost in the dribble then seriously consider the red course at fxguide.com

Thanks allot

Thank you for replies, will check out online courses.

I double, triple, & quadruple the recomendation...

Also be sure to find a local Red to rent untill you get your own, there is nothing like looking down the nostrils of this beast face to face...Have Fun!

I have my computer hooked up to a projector so I have a huge Mike Seymour face on pause right now on my living room wall while I write this ... The shades are drawn.

eww... I mean, yay? hmm

He gets very freaked out when he hears stuff like that...Must be pretty bizarre to have yourself spread out all over the world...To be played and replayed over and over again by a pantheon of CGI weirdos in the privacy of their own homes or where ever they may be when viewing ... Kinda kinky when you think about it.

There are no courses, per se. There is this forum and a PDF Guide on red.com. Down the road there will be some "boot camps" offered but not sure when.

Edit: Looks like I spoke too soon. Dogday posted the link.

There weren't any courses in L.A. back in February but there are now. Check out Red Boot Camp.

The new term of courses at fxphd.com, including 2 RED courses, starts next week.

Can anyone recommend a 4-8 weeks cinematography course? Doesnt matter where... I feel like traveling a little :-)
