Dear RED-Family.

I´m a little bit disappointed. On our RED ONE we lost one of the screws holding the RedDrive in the cradle. So I asked for one replacement screw...And I was very astonished that this pennyworth article will cost
me something...Hmmm normally some kind of these parts you´ll get everywhere for free (e.g. a keycap for my AVID-keyboard was sent to me for free and some other things as well)
OK and now I have to buy a pack of 4 screws for the pennyprice of 39$ incl shipping.
OK, you will say "we can´t do this with every part" but as a good customer normally this should be for free. Please think about this...and I´m sure that this wouldn´t cost you too much...

Cheers

Alex

Really? We're down to complaining about the screws?:rofl:

I'll bet $37 of that is shipping... The bolt set has a full set of tools, bolts and goodies for $9 so clearly they aren't trying to screw anyone here. I know the screw you need isn't in there, just using it as an example of something they would charge $75 for if they were out to rip us off.

True, you can walk into an eyeglass store anywhere in the world and they will replace a small screw for free but that's very different than asking Red to Fed Ex something to you.

I completely understand where you're coming from but do not agree this is a sign of poor customer service.

Thanks Steven-Marc. Will try it there...sometimes it feels like to criticize the "Church of Red" if you say something "inconvenient" ;-)

1st off... if it is a standard screw, we probably shouldn't charge for it. The more elegant option, rather than post about a screw charge here, would be to contact your Bomb Squad rep directly and make your case. You have several options, including going to a local shop and just buy one. As for the "Church of RED"... that comment doesn't win anyone over especially when the complaint is about a single screw.

We sell a 20 piece assorted screw set with all the Allen keys to match for $9. Hardly a "screw-job" when you just consider handling alone. I will assume that you asked it to be shipped "pronto" from Lake Forest to Germany?

true!

I regularly loose screws for this and that and I've found someone locally that I can buy replacements from. I'd suggest you do the same instead of trying to wipe that obligation off on RED (what on earth are you thinking?). It's not likely their fault that you've lost some of your parts...
