Schneider ND Group Buy

Hey guys,

I had a group buy thread up and it got lost in the server crash. There was pretty good interest - like 20+ people in one day thought they'd like to participate so here it is again.

A friend of mine is a Schneider dealer and he's willing to put in a bulk order for ND's if we buy 3 or 4 filter kits.

Price would be around $175 per filter for Schneider 4" X 5.650 (panavision size)... if that's what you guys want.

Post what you'd like for yourself. I'd prefer to keep this as simple as I can. if we all want fairly similar things than it'll be easy. If not, I'll take your requests to him and see what he says. I'm open to suggestions. Feedback from guys who have RED's out there would be helpful too. I'll be out of for a couple days and will check back in this weekend.

I'm leaning towards a .3,.6,.9,1.8 kit based on some light meter tests in my area at 320-500 iso.

Oh - thanks for reminding me. Post any filter you need but I'll have to check prices on anything other than the ND's as they vary.

Anyone heard anything more about a RED branded Matte Box and what size it's likely to be? I've been assuming 4 x 5.65

I figure within a week at the most because I want my filters here when my camera shows up and there's going to be a wait time getting them from Schneider - maybe a few weeks.

Joelnet, Thanks for that info. I don't get my camera until late Jan(knock on wood) so I am going to kick it around for a day to see if I want to kick down for filters right now. But I wil let you know before the week is up and let you know for sure. Thanks again.

Good point. Round pola is a good idea.
