  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet

scarlet should be alright for shooting kids Christmas pageants and other home videos.

...people generally prefer to shoot those with a less of a toy camera then what scarlet will be.

...I think the scarlet will be great for kids and young teen filmakers looking to find a fun camera to cut their teeth on.

Scarlet should be a good toy for home video stuff and the odd wedding shoot. I do not see it being very useful in much of a professional setting.

...Heck most wedding hacks use cameras worth more than $3,000...

How many more times are you going to post that? At this point you're just acting like a troll.

Finner, Finner, Finner... ...as suspected - hard-core "analog professional" bashing everything digital (with the exception of Red One - kudos there...)

It's finner... He is a troll... ;) (and probably pissed he doesn't have still camera to supplement his Red1)

Well Finner - My company will start shooting new (Professional) TV series about cars and travel in the second half of this year - for now in HD. As soon as Scarlet's out we will switch over all cams to Scarlet (providing the f/2.8 lens is going to be all it is promised to be).

Scarlet will also most definitely replace our current cams inside our heli-gyro-mounts for aerial shoots and will also be used for underwater filming...

But hey, we are all amateurs, right?

I did't think Mexico had TV's yet.

Chill Peter

I am just having fun goofing around and slumming with the scarlet kids.

No it was an ARRI.

Perhaps the Epic forum is more to your liking Finner. So you can stop trolling here and go there.

Na, I'd rather talk about a camera I can actually use right now. I'll check out the Epic when it comes out.

I just thought it would be fun to come down here and wade in the kiddie pool for a while.

You may not shoot weddings, Finner, but it's neither fair nor nice to call wedding shooters hacks. And frankly, I don't believe that you are a real professional. Anyone can list any number of film cameras and claim that they used them.

Let me put it in a different way: anyone here disagrees with the statement that Haskell Wexler (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005549/) is one of living legends and MASTERS of cinematography? Or - professionals? Hope not. Great. Well Mr. Wexler shot "Who Needs Sleep" on Sony PD150 - arguably less of a camera than Scarlet. Still wading in the kiddie pool, Finner?

Hey everyone! I'm really excited about this camera! As well as all of the other Red products as well.

I want to give a shout out to Finner! You’re the man! This is my first post on this board, after lurking for the longest time! It was you who inspired me to sign up! I just wanted to let you know that you make my heart all warm n' fuzzy to know that if someone who is as big of a douche as you can get ANY work in the industry, I can see a bright future for myself! Especially if you are my competition! Man if you where here right now I might even hug you, if I wasn’t afraid of your douche-baggery rubbing off on me that is.

Cheers,

You guys are way to serious. Try to have a little fun, I was just rattling the cage a little. I'm much less of a douche then you may think.

Still wading in the kiddie pool, Finner?

Na, I wizzed in it and left.
