Scarlet-X 618 Eleanor made it's way to the studio out in NY at long last! So #959 Canon AL. Shipped everything except the side handle as usual.

Since Phil and Skully have pretty much written the book on all things Scarlet, I figured I'd try something different.
2 lenses, 1 camera 3D HD. Working on a 4 mirror beam splitting lens for 3D action with just 1 Scarlet.
Post is a series of pre comps in AfterEffects where you drop the original footage in and it splits & layers it. It should work the same in Premiere to edit in 3D with the R3Ds.
Also working on a clip on solution for the 5" RED display to allow 3D viewing.

Here is a super quick look in the dark hotel room last night, not much to look at, just proof of concept.

Nooooo I was going to name mine Eleanor!

Congrats man! Well deserved!

Congratulations Justin. There's a few places out here in LA that make beam splitters out here, but there's certainly room for more compact and cost effective solution on the market.

On the less expensive side there are very inexpensive Loreo 3D lenses (not so good quality), and kits like http://www.ebay.com/itm/3D-images-SKF-1-Stereo-Kit-Canon-Helios-44-2-/160523465491?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item255ff1b313#ht_3339wt_1237 available on Ebay based on the Helios 44-2 that aren't too bad for about $100.

Good for people looking to experiment.

Ya the Loreo is actually what got me started thinking in making an option that is fully adjustable & higher quality, but still a small unit...

Handheld Scarlet or EPIC with a small beam splitting lens would be amazing!
