It is finally here! #1667 arrived at her new home. It's been a long wait in the last years but also an exciting ride.

I named her Mathilda for one of my most favorite movies from the time I decided for myself to become a filmmaker: "Leon" from Luc Besson.
I ended up not calling her "Snow Crash" although the name sounds cooler, out of sentimental reasons. hehehe!

I'll hopefully keep this updated and post some of my life and excitement with it. This will mainly be a private camera. Let's see where the road will take me.

Thank you Jim! Thank you Jarred! For making this dream possible and for being the open and great guys you are!
Hopefully I'll be able to finally thank you in person in the near future!

Also thank you everyone of the lovely RED team! And of course a big thank you to all of my beloved redusers!

Gotta go and play some more ;)

Patrick

I am, I am ;) Thanks Terry!

For me it's the road out of HD video owner land ;) No more big camera rentals except for more fps or multi cam shoots! ;) still have some DSLR B Cam for HD stuff.
Call me fanboy, I don't care ! hehehe I love that thing already, even if I didn't get to play with it as much as I wanted to, yet.

...and one day Mathilda will get a badass big boy EPIC Leon to go along with the little one if everything works out.

Congrats, Patrick ! :)

I'm really happy for you ! Love the name... Go out and make good use of it. Have fun.

Thanks guys! I hope I'll be able to post some stuff soon!

Congratulations Patrick. I know you've been looking forward to the arrival for some time!

Thank you Phil! Thank you for dropping by. And thanks again for sharing your experiences and knowledge! Keep it up!

It's true I've been dreaming of owning a RED camera since the days, when Scarlet hasn't even been announced yet. And even though motion work has been much too slow the past year, at least I was able to afford her. Before that I was thinking about possibly making it for EPIC but oh well.. maybe some day ;) And then the delivery really took some time until everything worked out. Mails not landing in spam and so forth. I now have Mathilda since almost three weeks, and because of my other work I hardly got to shoot with her. (Also I didn't get my side handle until late this week, so I couldn't even go outside with it because of the lack of battery options.) That's what bugged me the most. ;)

Thanks Peter, I'm in Basel from time to time. Depending on your location, maybe we even get to meet someday!
