A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding video with Elena (our Scarlet) This is no ordinary wedding video however, this is a project I've had in mind for a very long time. Something we like to call the Wedding Concept Cinema. The video is far from being technically perfect since we had no budget for it, and I'm still working on making a better grade, but I wanted to share it with you all to get some feedback. (The intro to our logo is super cheesy but bear with me, I just started lo learn After Effects :001_rolleyes:)

A brief introduction:

The idea is writing a short film that is somehow tied with the Wedding Day, that we can film most of the short film prior to the wedding, shoot some stuff during the wedding day and show it during the reception, making it a very special moment throughout the wedding celebration. This could be an original story, or a homage to a movie or pop culture. I pitched the idea to one of the couples I was going to work with, and being movie fanatics themselves, they loved the idea.

The idea:
Since they were movie fanatics they decided to pay homage to a few movies: Inception, Terminator 2, Anchorman, Grease, and IP Man (which sadly ended in the cutting floor due to length). It was a big challenge to write a coherent story by trying to use all these elements, but I'm very happy with the results.

This concept is a pretty good idea. I thought the Grease spoof was hilarious.

One other note, if it was possible during the wedding, a CU of the bride/groom would of been great. May be even during the reveal shot of the bride; this could of been the CU, then cut to a wide to see the dress. Just my two cents.

Great job.

Thank you all for your kind words, we had a blast producing it. We are looking forward to the next time where we'll have another opportunity like this, maybe with a bit of a budget and a slightly larger production schedule (we had 2 days of shooting and one week for post) Plus the wedding day itself)

I thought of doing something similar to that at first, but once the ceremony started with all the guests present and around we really only had a couple of places where to be without being on the way. We also only had one shot at it, so I decided to play it safe with wider shots. We were filming their ceremony doing a 3 angle setup as well, so we had to make sure not to mess that up either :)

As a little easter egg, here is us filming one of the scenes while the ocean was plotting behind our backs to take our camera from us.
