  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet-W Queue

I have been waiting patiently almost 11 months. Got alocation on 30th October 2016. Payed the same day. It has been almost 2 months from alocation and camera still not here. Talked to my EU dealer and it seems like no SW come to europe since december. Any of you guys in europe recieved their camera in last 2 months???
Waited so long never complain about it, but now i am getting nervous!
 
Got the same issues here in Germany. We ordered in August and the allocation was the 12th December 2016. We are on the waitinglist for Germany on Place 3. Around 30 poor Guys are behind us. The Person which is first on the list waits since April.
I wasn´t nervous, but this makes me doubt.
Hope your Dealer is wrong with his prediction for the EU market. Did your dealer justify his statement?

Finn, I put the order on March.
After allocation and payment I was suppose to recieve the camera after 12th December. Than I got information that there were some manufacturing problems with the camera.
2nd January I asked the dealer if he gets some new info. The answer was 2-3weeks for the delivery.
And now the last call was like "Nobody knows nothing. Everyone in EU is waiting for a batch from RED."

So I was super happy on December. Hoping in January and now it seems edlesssssssssss.

The worst is that I you dont know if it will be a week or 3 months more.

I've been talking as frequently as possible to Abel, I purchased my Scarlet-W package in June, so 2 months after you, they recently told me that I'm roughly 10th in line. Have they said anything like this to you? I want to know what is being feed to the others waiting.
 
Hi everyone,

Just wanted to update that I finally received my Scarlet-W brain. I originally ordered a Raven i/o package on 3th of March from CVP, then switched to Scarlet-W around July, but they didn't let me switch to Scarlet i/o package, so they switched me to Brain only, which I got last week, there was ZERO time from allocation to delivery, Matthew from CVP simply called me on the 8Th of January and said: the camera is waiting for you at the store you are welcome to come and pick it up!, I paid 2-3 days later, then went to pick it up a few days after that.

Adding a couple of photos with the Canon 8-64 super16 Zoom and 35mm T1.5 Zeiss CP2.

Oh, If someone could please add my name to the online google doc list I'll be grateful, just have no idea how to use excel!

Hey Chance, I just looked back at my email with Brian at AbelCine, and he guessed I was around number 8 in line back on January 21st. He also disclosed that AbelCine only received a total of 2 Scarlet-W's in December, when they were hoping to get around 10.

Still waiting for news from red about my 12/05/15 order.

I went the same route. I'm here because of the delay + silence regarding the 4.6K Ursa Mini. You won't want to go back. :)

Man could you please do me the favor of explaining to me what the hell is the IPP2??? I've been reading it here and there but I'm not entirely sure what it is or how does it work. Is like an update right? I'd really appreciate the help cuz I'm also new to the Red ecosystem.
 
It's a new image processing pipeline for Red cameras. It starts with a new color space and gamma curve, and it's going to give Red users access to some nice color management options. From what Graeme's been showing, it seems like it's going to enable Red users to build custom looks for our footage, and also use a color calibrated workflow starting on camera.

The only caveat is that you only get it in camera if you have a Helium; if you don't then you can only use it in post. I think you'll still be able to upload looks to the camera with non-Helium cameras.

Does anybody know if the SW can take Long Exposure still photography? Would love to make a TimeLapse of the starry sky in the dessert with it
