Scarlet-W Queue

Hi, hopefully soon be a new member in Red family.
I placed an order on Sept 5th, 2016 through the official RED dealer in Austrailia. i was told that i should receive at the end of October/November.

What is there timestamp? I ordered from a dealer with an early Jan timestamp and hoping October will happen.

I ordered through Maxxdigital. They've been great to work with. I'd recommend looking into them and see if they have an earlier timestamp. If you order direct from RED, it won't be until well into 2017 before you get it.

I went through a dealer as well. I don't know their timestamp but I'm waiting anxiously every day for my call. I know they will get one waaaayyyyyy before I would have if I had ordered directly through RED.

I have posted this in the Raven thread, and in another conversation regarding the fulfillment delay; but in an effort to play our part to help the community, AbelCine is offering up extremely discounted rentals for REDusers who are currently waiting for their Raven or Scarlet-W. You do not need to have an order placed with AbelCine, but only need to be a REDuser who is waiting for your camera!

RED is working through all of these camera orders, and that will obviously take some time, so we want to help people keep booked jobs and continue shooting. If you have an upcoming job, and you are interested in getting a discounted rental quote, please email me directly at Bbyrne (at) AbelCine (dot) come and I will put you in contact with our Rental Manager. You can always email me directly if you have any questions at all.

THIS is how a company makes a lifelong customer.

Wow.

You don't see very many companies going out of their way like that to help out someone else's customers. :)

Of course, that's the sort of company that I prefer to send my business to. And to be.

I learned what a great company AbelCine was at NAB back around 1999. Peter Abel spent an entire hour with me going over all the options for a camera package I was considering. He even suggested we step outside the convention hall where it was quieter so we could talk. I didn't find out until later who he was. He just introduced himself as Peter. I knew then that this was a great company to do business with.

I've spent my time with both Abel and RED, and there really are quite a few similarities between how they are both run... which shows why they are both such great companies. At the end of the day we are all just fans of quality cameras. So we want to do our part to support the community the best way we know how, and that is keeping cameras in your hands so you can keep working while RED pushes cameras out as quickly as humanly possible. I can assure you all, your wait will be well worth it!

So with that being said, feel free to shoot me an email or give me a call at the Burbank office and we can chat, even if you just want to talk shop!

Wow that is a great story... and not surprising at all knowing Pete! I am going to remind him of that when I speak to him this afternoon.

Havent even had a chance to put my deposit in with Abel Cine, frankly ive had a hard time doing so. This process seemed really unprofessional to me.

3 Days to call me back. Called Abel Cine, they told me they would pass the message, nada. You would think they want my money.

I started a Spreadsheet for Scarlet W Queue to see where the Queue is at, if you put a deposit down on a scarlet-W and plan on upgrading to the Epic-W do not add your info to this list. It is open to editing for anybody who wants to add their name and info to the list. Please respect the list.

If you have received your Scarlet-W Please add your information so we can see that information as well to get a better idea where the queue is at
