Scarlet-W packages no more?

Not sure if anyone else has asked this question or pointed this out, but has anyone noticed that you can't pre-order any Scarlet-W packages anymore. Same with the Raven, the only option available now is the brain by itself. Was there anything announced prior to RED removing these options?

I've been grinding all of 2016 for I can buy the V Mount Package. I know the wait is long but I was still going to drop the cash.

Those packages do not include a camera. They are independent of the brain.

you can now pick your brain (literally) and then add a package. Note once you add a package to the cart you can add or remove what you want / don't want ( thanks red) they made them up to get you started but still fully customizable

same pricing so far only change is you are not stuck with what was in the original package structure. its now more of a burger king experience

Actually I don't think so. When RED offered the initial packages for Raven and Scarlet-W, buying the package saved you some bucks, though I don't know how much. Now, they are streamlining ordering, there is no cost savings that I can see, just a quicker way to group items you might need for your style of shooting. The part that Marcel points out about putting the package into your cart and still being able to edit it, I had not realized. I like that feature a lot.

For those that don't remember what led to this particular moment.

When RED first announced the DSMC2 line-up there were "optimized bundles" that put people pegged into a fairly rigged accessory setup without the ability to add or remove components. The problem was is different shooters have different needs, wants, and desires.

The new Packages are optimized for all different types of shooters and also provide a turnkey solution for those making single or multiple kits. This should also be easier for those new to the RED ecosystem as these reflect shoot ready packages to add to your camera brain purchase.

The other option of course is to piece things out on your own, which is always a good way to go if you need something a bit more catered to specific needs.

Damn I wish it was like this when I ordered my package, really nice change being able to pick and choose what you want. I had to sell and buy parts separately
