  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet-W has Begun...

really want the battery announcement to come sooner then later so i dont invest 1000's of dollars in temporary batteries.
 
I agree Jordan. RED makes such cool accessories, no reason to get bulky unnecessary accessories from third parries to this beautiful compact camera! Wooden Camera is awesome, but they just announced a V Mount plate perfect to solve this "NOT", because it won't work with the BASE EXPANDER V Mount we are getting. So again, does not work for our scarlet w package.

I am mentally ready to buy third parties though. Nothing in life is perfect. But RED can make it perfect with future announcements. Right RED??? :)

also, it doesnt seem like that wooden camera mount has AC/DC in, so you can go with it sans expander module, plus it's $700!
if they just made one with AC and a simple SDI out, that would of solved a lot.
 
I am hoping mine gets in by monday!!! i can't wait :)
 
In terms of the battery shape solution i'm tempted to try out some of the Anton Bauer Cine V-Mounts; They're supposedly specifically shaped for Weapon and so forth in order to continue with the profile of the camera. Even if they struggle to communicate data you've got the AB minutes and hour display screen on it!

Weird, that's also my b-day. I got the brain, 4.7" display, and base expander a la carte and I would be thrilled to get it the week of March 9 since my schedule is so open to play with it all week, one can dream. Already have an ET plate so I don't need the base expander but I have so many projects coming up my Scarlet will hit the ground running. Just shot a short this weekend on Epic Dragon for the first time and had a blast, having my scarlet will be a hell of a birthday!
 
I went through the entire thread and I understood everything about priorities etc.
What I did't get is roughly how long I'd expect to wait for receiving my scarlet-w (ordered the package upgrade from dragon on Dec 17th).

So how many order a week are going to be shipped? And how some people know their allocation in queue?

I have some productions going on, I sold my dragon and I'd like to understand how to invest my money (if on a day by day rental or maybe a cheaper long term)

So raven switching have priority on scarlet upgrades priority ^^ too bad.
 
Yeah. I'm digging in for the long wait. I ordered Raven (brain only) in November, a couple of weeks before the Scarlet-W announcement, and then switched to S-W (brain only) a couple hours after it was announced. I'm probably one of the last few switchers since my Raven order was so late compared to many.

I know RED is doing everything they can to get the cameras out the door.

but did you order just the package or the brain only? and on the evening of sept 24th???
pkgs are a week or two later...
 
sorry, should have clarified. I ordered a S-W package. Packages started getting allocated on Wednesday, and I was not in that batch. I ordered at 12:22 AM the night of the Raven preorders starting.
 
I may be mistaken but i think a couple package guys posted about an allocation, but they were ones who ordered right away. Like Brent said there were other factors other than just timestamp, who knows what they may be exactly. Regardless, I think we'll hear some more next week once those MG upgrades go thru.

Just think you may of been holding a brain by now.. but not a totally rad custom case, for free! ;) The guys at RED always do right by the customer.. so i'm sure over the next few weeks we'll see lots of happy brain / package people!

I ordered about 10 minutes after you, so maybe if one of us hears something the other will too.
 
I pre-ordered Raven base io on Sep 25th, 14:25 then switched to Scarlet-W base io later. Haven't got an allocation yet. Probably haven't constantly refreshed my email this much ever, but thrilled regardless that Red is ahead of date estimates! Even though I'm itching to get my hands on it, it feels good to invest in a great company. This level of service and the community seems totally unmatched to me! I also don't' think I've ever wanted my credit card to be charged as much as I do now, HA!
