  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet-W has Begun...

Hey Brent! Glad to hear about the rollout! My question is, if the Raven timestamp switches over, how come the Weapon Magnesium doesn't? My rep said I was one of the first to put a deposit down for the Weapon Magnesium (which is still there) but then a few weeks ago, I made a Scarlet-W deposit. I received my Magnesium notification already, yet I was told I my timestamp would not stick if I changed my purchase decision to Scarlet-W. I don't understand why this is especially since I never asked for the $5,000 to be refunded because I am still committed to the purchase of a camera, I just decided to switch the model.. Ultimately I would like the Scarlet-W as soon as possible, and wanted to transfer my existing Magnesium deposit of $5,000 over to the Scarlet deposit.

Personally, I thought bumping people who wanted a $5k Raven body (and most likely not current RED owners) in front of the first people to put down a 2x bigger deposit on the double-the-cost Scarlet-W was strange... But I guess they want to incentivize upgrading your order and not downgrading it like you were. So if I had to guess, that's probably why.
 
Could be. But yeah, I think it's messed up. I am also a current RED owner of the Scarlet MX, so you're right about that. Plus, the deposit which was already taken from my account was $5,000, over 5 times the amount of the Scarlet-W and even more than the Raven $500 deposit. So obviously I am serious about my purchase. My only reason for changing to the Scarlet-W is because as much as I wanted to get the Weapon Magnesium, I just couldn't justify the 3x cost increase in my mind. My primary reason for getting a new camera was higher frame rates, which at 4.5K resolutions and down, all five new DMSC2 cameras are the same. The Magnesium has 6K, and better compression, but for my pocket, I couldn't pay $20,000 more for that. Pro Res resolution and rates are the same amongst the two as well. I don't know how many people may have downgraded, but I still expect a little bit better result especially when I didn't ask for a refund. I told my rep she could keep my deposit, just transfer it to the Scarlet-W. I even placed a separate order for the Scarlet-W just as a backup so now they have already received a total of $6,000 from me and I am just trying to get one camera, the Scarlet-W. May someone reading this can make some thing happen. I have read some of the other threads and a couple of them seem pretty good when it comes to customer service.

I'm a little confused. I ordered Raven Base I/O 35 hours earlier (and switched to Raven-W base-i/o) and have not received email.

How did Quinn get ahead? Did he switch to brain only when switched to Scarlet-W?

Just trying to figure when my package might ship (and when to have lease company wire funds) and make sure I haven't been missed since my account on RED.com doesn't show any open orders even though I have the confirmation emails from both my initial Raven order and the confirmation from Roberto on the Scarlet-W switch (and have had my new bomb squad rep send the pro forma invoice to my leasing company).

They are doing brain only orders on the Scarlet-W right now. Packages start rolling out after. Exciting times!

michael, the very first post on this thread by jarred says:

"We began blasting out notifications tonight.... The Scarlet-W program has officially begun.

Brains are going out first, and the Scarlet-W Packages should start going out next week."
 
More notifications would not go out until Monday probably, right? Just wondering if I should still be refreshing my email every three minutes or give it a break for about 72 hours? haha

PM me. I am confused. You have a WEAPON Mg deposit and a SCARLET-W deposit but you want the deposit money from WEAPON to SCARLET-W? Do you want both cameras or just one? From your post, looks like both, but just want to move money from one deposit to another? Again, please PM me.

Letting dust settle on this blast. Next is midweek next week...
 
I'm going to guess it was a good amount. If they have gone through the first day of Raven orders into your time stamp the following day... I think it's a good portion. I think those days are the biggest in density, RAVEN preorder day when people switched to W and W preorder day. Once they work through those, the order density is going to decline and the blasts will cover a wider range of days. 1.5 days of high density is a lot of cameras haha.

need to wait for my friends weapon upgrade to come back.. no I/O expanders available @@. I will use my buddies redvolt XL module to power the camera until late march when they estimate more modules to become available. His Camera arrived at Red yesterday so.. maybe another week or so -_- by then some may have their packages anyhow.. would have gone for package but i have a lot of the accessories needed for the camera (5" monitor, red mini mags, handles etc)
