  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

:) thanks Matt, I had a lot of fun ;) I was so excited about the cams, wanted to do something crazy and now I am so very happy that all repeats. I am even more excited about the Scarlet-W

Hello Brent! I am shopping at RED.com now to have all the toys for my Scarlet W. Below, What does this mean exactly?

NOTE: The DSMC2 Top Handle is NOT fully compatible with the DSMC2 Base I/O V-Lock Expander, as the top handle will interfere with the battery when one is attached to the expander module.

DSMC2 TOP Handle won't work with the I/O V lock is I have a Brick on it BUT it will work if I use a belt clip to power the camera?

Don’t be so sure of that. Our supply chain team is trying to make it work from a cost standpoint for RAVEN packages to come in a hard case much like SCARLET-W ones….

Longer V lock batteries ( including our own ) will hit the longer top handle, so you need to use the shorter V locks from sony or Anton Bauer or us the long V locks and the short ( universal ) handle.

oh, that would be a deal breaker for me to cancel all my ala carte orders and switch to the pkg, hmmmm.
well, i might be selling a 120gb card soon!
i thought at one point there was going to be another type of pkg put together?

Also, speaking of packaging, I am sure the initial SCARLET-W brain only guys won't mind that we don't have our official branded SCARLET-W shipping boxes until mid next week, so these first deliveries will just be in a black generic DSMC2 box.... We didn't want to hold things up for just that!

That's no problem. I ordered Brain only specifically for the earlier delivery. Looks like there is a good chance it will ship out later today :)

Am I mistaken or did you hint at a new v-lock battery solution more than a month ago that would solve this problem?

Just paid for my Scarlet-W brain after talking to Heather, my bomb squad rep. Hopefully the accessories to make it work will be available soon. I guess I am in with Red.

yes, i thought so too, but no word. i might rent batteries until the announcement, i prefer to stick with all RED.

I'm in the same boat. Trying to hold out a few more days before deciding which batteries to go with. I'd love to have an update on this, although I realize that's just wishful thinking.

I put my deposit down last night for Scarlet-W bundle, so I may be waiting until after NAB to get batteries anyway..could be a while for me before I get the email.
