Scarlet W files...

Hi guys, I am new to Red and I heard on few places that the raw files from the scarlet w are not seen in final cut pro x (latest version) I remember I was use to work with some files that Have downloaded from red using the red plug in downloaded from red website, so I was wondering, as I never used red cine before, is it possible to export the raw file in a format that can be read from fpcx?

Sure, you can export ProRes for example.

But support in FCPX is probably out shortly.

There is anywhere I can download a Scarlet W raw file (even few seconds) just to check in fcpx? I read somewhere else here that someone manage to open the Weapon file in fcpx...it should be the same right? Also, something I need to understand...if I want only work pro res files, can I decide for exampke to record in 5K and then will be delivered in camera downscaled in 2K pro-res? Or I will find two files one raw 5K and one 2K pro res? Thanks for the help!

r3d + prores or r3d only or prores only are your option for recording.

There are currently some issues with red progress files and r3d´s in some third party software but I think that will sort within a very soon upgrade from red or from those third part vendors. So not much to worry about, it´s been the same when dragon came out and most likely it will be the same when 8k weapon come out. But every time so far that sorted long before most got their cameras.
