Scarlet W Dragon 5K for Netflix

[Henry Epstein]

Hello friends,

Tonight I have been asked if the Scarlet W Dragon 5K is really approved by Netflix since the Minimum data-rate of Bitrate of 240 Mbps at 23.98 fps are the Netflix Capture Requirements ...

As far as I know this camera Max Data Rate is up to 140MB/s using RED MINI-MAGs...

Any help Please? Thank you very much in advance!

Yes, I believe it is, based on these two links (quick Google search)

140 MB/s actually is 1120 Mb/s...

I already answered this question for you on the Facbeook group, but in case anyone else is curious:

You're mixing up your units. 240 megabits is far less than 140 megabytes.

240 mbps = 30 MB/s

140 MB/s = 1120 mbps.

That said, they specifically say not to shoot on higher than 6:1 compression according to their camera specific guideliens, which works out to about 85 MB/s.

Thank you very much to all!
