  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet-W 5k is actually Scarlet-W 6k in disguise

I was under the impression that the 6K sensor in the Scarlet W is a 6K Dragon sensor with one or more dead pixels near the edges of the sensor and therefore outside of the 5K crop in area. How Jim mentioned "yields" seems to imply this. This allows Red to offer a slightly less capable camera for a huge discount compared to the Weapon Dragon and save them from losing money on slightly defective sensors that normally would have been trashed :)
