  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet update in mid-May

Wish I had a Scarlet this weekend when I hiked Stone Mountain. Already planning to go back with one as I cannot wait to capture the view I saw and work it into some movie I am working on. :)
 
Anyone for Scarlet on the John Muir Trail in the Sierra Nevada, summer 2011? :thumbsup:

I want to test my scarlet in the desert of United Arab Emirates that will be a real heat test. Usually temperature will be around 122 f in the summer.... we faced so many situation where a red one stop working coz of the heat and that’s why we use an ice bag to cool it down while shooting.

Does it get really awkward to handle once the ice-packs are on?

I had a similar probably with a 7D in Iran last winter. (Yes, it was very hot in the winter).

If I were you, I'd do those tests with someone else's Scarlet. :lol:

I think it was postponed because of Jim taking leave. But there was a lot of good stuff in Jarred's answers to Joseph's questions.

Jarred also said we should see some footage soon, but he didn't have time to shoot anything last weekend.

So a lot of words and train is not moving! Maybe we need just wait winter of 2010/2011!

You are very optimistic! I think all of us want to believe in the better future but...as practice has shown there will be a lot of delays...so I think It would be really good if we will see S35 in the summer of 2011 or winter 2011/2012. For example we are talking about Stage 2 and even 3 but reality is theat even Tattoo has not began!
And it would be miracle to see Epic in Jan/Feb 2011! So I think we need to be more realistic...of course we want to see Epic and Scarlet by the end of 2010...but I think it is very dangerous hope because it may be broken again...so I think it is more usefull to don't build illusions to don't be disillusioned again in a new date! I think we need to accumulate the patience and wait for some real date I mean it is begin of 2011 for Epic (I mean stage 4 of course) and summer 2011 for S35..so this is my feeling! I want to be wrong! But....

I think we need to stop ask this When and just wait for begin 2011! I think untill begin 2011 we will not see anything anyway! And if we will see Epic in the begin 2011 only after that we can plan to see Fixed, Cinema, S35 since summer 2011 to winter 2012! Nobody now can tell when we will see something!

I don't think so, If anything around that date it will be pushed to the NAB..
so, optimistic say next IBC.. more reality say next NAB..

when RED says.. we have delayed making these camera's because you people requested a lot of features that we had to develop .. I say ok, but, when all features are locked down.. there should be a date announced for the release.. a more accurate one.. there is no more features to be added.. or I'm wrong?
