  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet S35 is now...

What was going to be an FF35 Scarlet was planned to be renamed to something else other than "Scarlet". I wouldn't be surprised if the FF35 EPIC is renamed as well so that the sensor formats are not confused with the names...like they did with the EPIC-S.
 
Jim is on vacation in the next 6 days, so in the next week im sure we wont get announcements.. But would be really nice!
 
I hope at the beginning of 2011(Feb maybe?) I will be able to buy the Light Version ;)

Why-oh-why would they announce an announcement, which will be delayed, and not tell us why it is being delayed or when we can't expect the news to be instead? I mean come on, everything in lifes changes-bla-bla-bla, but seriously one single announcement...

RED will make the announcement when they are ready...have a little patience.
 
Jim can you give us the new price of Epic Light. Estimate shipping date?

Scarlet 2/3 Fixed and Interchangeable estimate shipping dates?

I really don´t want to buy a Panasonic AG-AF100 or a Sony PMW F3, so please release any Scarlet or Epic LT and I will buy it.

wouldn't you get excited if you were developing this stuff I understand the announcements that seem to stem purely from Jim's excitement and optimism, you really can't take them as final dates or two weeks being exactly two weeks, just it will come.

As has been said they will tell us when they are ready to tell us and I am just fine with that, though i can understand how others have trouble with it, but patience is a virtue.

What will the frame rates be on Epic-S? Is there a thread somewhere that clarifies all of this? I have been saving for Epic-X, have pretty much all my cash and now things are changing... Jim can you post the final specs on the Epic(s)? P.S. Epic sounds way better than Scarlet by the way. Not to say that interchangeable Scarlet wont be sweet:)

Just because he must be "new here", doesn't make it right or acceptable. The delays and premature announcements for the new cameras have been extraordinary, and the exhilarating and positive response to these delays from many on this forum even more extraordinary. At some point one must just make films with what is available now, and forget all about this"Everything in life changes... including our camera specs and delivery dates..." stuff.

Me too. But the F100 is now, and the scarlett, maybe 6 (best case) or 12 monthes (worse). So I bought a pana. That is the very first time that I buy a camera with in my mind the will to sell it in 1 year, before getting it...
