"Doesn't look like anything new to me.. :(" have you noticed on Red store- new release page. Epic m Brain and DSMC side handle have moved to third row towards the bottom. Epic M brain used to be on top row until yesterday:-)

It has been said "Why is everyone still throwing around "3K for $3K"?"

Well I think because it is something that we all want. Now I am starting to get the feeling that the Scarlet, although I still want it, will be out of my price range. I know I'm not alone. And the canon cinema camera they are announcing tomorrow looks like crap. IMHO, its ugly and looks featureless. But I digress, I think for all of us who still want a 3k for 3k, we may have another option. There is an open source project for a cinema camera here: http://cinema.elphel.com/ and I would love to help lead a group of people to create an open source 3k camera for a 3k price. If you are interested in starting the project, give me a shout.

Have a link for Canon leak? And if we have been waiting 2 years for Scarlet to triple in price, yes, many will be disappointed.

Thats an old prototype. Wait till announcements are in tomorrow...

Prototype or not, its ugly. I find it hard to believe it would look much different. Regardless, I want to make an open source camera for fun if anyone is interested.

As far as I know, this is it: http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/4/2010/09/canon4kcam_9_01.jpg
I could be wrong but I think that is the cam they are talking about tomorrow.

Yep, this is definitely not it. Though apparently eight year old girls were greatly intrigued by it's showing, but they felt it needed to heat up quicker. More like a 7D. *snicker snicker*

Canon have already said this was just a design experiment. They just thought it was something cool to show. *Snicker* I spoke to a Beta tester out my part of the world way and he thought the new cam he used - F3 rival he said - will be great. I believe it will be good too. Just blown out of the water by RED. But great to have the industry moving in the right direction isn't it.

Good to know, yeah how amazing would a dslr camera with integrated cooling like a fan or something be? My t2i crashed in the summer heat a few times this year.
