Come on... 1080p? Congrats RED.
What exactly would you finish to with a 3K Scarlet?

Yeah 2/3 for $10K does it, not.I bet Jim & the Red team are already disappointed Canon didn't step up. Limiting to 1080 and not even dual link 444? They're gonna stomp on their throats...no mercy.
Less compression I would think going from 3k down to 1080 once rather than 3k to 1080 in camera then 1080 again. Maybe not? What exactly would you finish to with a 3K Scarlet?

It's a dissapointment if their big global announcement about their new camera is basicly an expensive HDSLR that still finishes in 1080. Exactly how new and revolutionary is that? It's hard to say which will create the better 1080p.... but my point is, why snigger at the resolution when everything shot on Scarlet (assuming it's 3K) will be finished in 1080p/2k
We'll according to Canon we would finish in 1080 for $16,000. Knowing your camera will not be obsolete in a year, (scarlet) PRICELESS.

Knife is always better than 2/3 gun.I'd like to congratulate Jim, Graeme & Co. Canon brought a 1080p Mpeg2 30fps knife to a gun fight![]()
You prefer 1080p over 3K? Just stabilizing a 1080p image demands a ton of of post work afterwards. Then you have green screen etc. Oh and I read that it does 60fps in 720p... Whopptido![]()
