Hi Guys,

I have been on here every second hour since the 3rd, reading as many posts as I can. I have paid in full and I KNOW there is no clarifcation on delivery dates, but the depressing thing is, I see people exploding with joy because their Scarlet has arrived and I feel happy for them, really! But, it worries me that since I'm about 4000 camera's away from now....does that mean I should almost forget that I have a Scarlet coming? I mean, are we looking at Feb, March or even later next year? Realistically, if it were late March that I were to receive my cam, I think I would be better off crying now and putting it behind me, rather than looking for clues every day and clinging onto hope. Have I missed any important updates that give me better hope than this? Or any inside information?

Thoughts?

Matt

Matt, just because your order number is that high, it doesn't mean you are that many Scarlets behind. I ordered my Scarlet on Nov 3rd and a few hours later order the 5 inch touch. The order number are already hundreds past a little while later. I think Scarlet is still priced high enough when you figure all the accessories, etc that so many still can't afford it. BTW, there are about 10 or 15 links all related to shipping and expectations. I've been through them all and responded to some. You'll unfortunately find no real answers on what to expect.

I would imagine that if we all keep voicing our opinions here and asking politely, and as things progress around the holidays, we'll soon here more. We would have to hear more soon, as I know so many of my buddies thinking about canceling their orders if they don't know soon, so I'm sure RED wants to keep there customers. I luckily have things in line where I bought specifically as I knew the price was rising in early Jan, so I purchased now, but if RED stated that my order was coming in Jan or even Feb I wouldn't mind like you, we just want to know. I wish you the best while you are waiting.

hehe...thanks guys. I'll be fine ;) I'm getting better at dealing with uncertainty! I guess it's a good time to practice the philosophy that it's not about the gear...something which I always HAVE done, but recentlt, the excitement of 4k RAW has slowed me down a little. And Lorezno, yep, I'm doing just that :) Having access to R3D's is the best!

Peace out homies,

Matt

Waiting for your first Red is a life changing experience.

I waited just over a year for my Red One, two years for my Epic, and will probably wait 3 months for my Scarlet.

It changes the way you think about life, about time. You just have to let go and let it happen. No planning, no expectations, just the knowledge that one day you will have your camera.

When that day happens you will measure things in two camps, how things were before you had it, and how things have changed after you get it.

For me it changed my entire life, put me on a new exciting path, and every day since receiving my R1 has been a joy!

So go ZEN and you'll be fine. Realize you have no control over the situation and everything will be as it should.

Red have changed everything and we have to forget everything we thought we knew about the way things are done. It takes time, it's evolving every day and if you want to be on the edge, this is the price of admission.

But Red will stand behind you and make you feel like you're the only owner in the world.

So embrace the experience and get ready for the ride of your life!

Yeah.. i'm starting to worry as well. When I placed the order on Nov 4th, my expectation was that ordering it within 14 hours of announcement would have secured a December shipment, since they indicated that is when volume production would start.

A master! Thanks man, it's seriously refreshing and empowering to read someone's experiences like yours. Congrats BTW, sounds like life behind RED is awesome on the other side! Can't wait!!!

So just to clarify, because I assumed much of the guessing about the numbers initially was merely conjecture, the number of my Scarlet is 0051197 does that definitively mean that I am 1197th in the list of orders?

RED didn't set that expectation, YOU did. Please, don't blame them for your unrealistic expectations.

Some peeps waited years for their RED EVF. I'm sure you can wait few months too.

So, this means, because you had to wait.. we shall wait too? Nice Logic!!

This isn't about impatience! Why can't we make educated decisions? Why this secrecy about ETA's? Well known that the E in ETA stands for estimated and not promised..

Hehe, well, my way of RED-ZENing will then be buying some NERF Toys and get my airbrush running :-)

Who needs a script with chicks and toys like these ;-)
Seems i suffer from Red-Intoxication *lol*

Use that time to save $$$ for the Extras.

All my notifications came at once, REDmote, Ti canon, Scarlet, Backpack.

Not all of them are going to be in my Xmas stocking :(

Oh well. At least weve got the EPICs.

I feel you! The first thing I do is check my email in the morning, even knowing it is still at least a couple months away.
