What was the M again? A bigger sensor, full zoom manual auto fixed lens, yep. But cost is not based on how much others charge, but on how much canbe made. A consumer camera can afford more professional features than a remote cinematography version, as it can sell 100 times as many. The SSD drives in laptops and moving to 260+ megabytes persecond, complete overkill for scarlet redcode, so those prices canbe done cheaper.
A fixed lens does not have to be much bigger or expensive than a mountable. The lens canbe recessed into the sudeof the body to give sure access to certain side controls, and a fully manual and auto red version of the wired lens can be made offering full filming and stills features.
Which market are you after, we have epic, and there are relatively to few cinematographers to the rest of the industry to flood that market with too many cameras.
