So I have a Scarlet I use all the time as a B-Cam for commercial shoots. It has been rock solid since the day I bought it, however since upgrading to the latest firmware it suddenly doesn't seem to hold onto some information after normal restarts. Things like monitor settings, frame rates and white balance seem to reset every time a battery gets swapped.

The first thing I did after noticing this issue was to go back to the previous firmware thinking it was just a bug in the latest version. However this problem seems to persist.

Has anyone experienced this?

The camera is totally operational, but its definitely annoying and takes up some very valuable time on set. I'm wondering if there is any kind of internal battery inside the camera that holds these settings, as it seems a logical solution to the issue at hand. Never heard of this myself, but maybe such a thing exists.

Enquiring minds would love to know.

Thanks.

Paul

FYI. Meaning to file a log with RED. Just wondering if its something simple that folks have run into already.

Hi Paul. You can export your settings to a REDMAG and keep those on a computer to always have. Every time you upgrade a firmware the settings get flashed in case there are new features or bugs that interact with those settings. Just pop in the card with the settings and upload to camera, then good to go.

Hi Phil

Yeah. I've done that. However the issue I'm having is that the camera doesn't "hold" its current settings after a shutdown or battery change...settings it seemed to hold before. Things like iso and frame size need to be reset after a battery swap, which is a bit annoying and time consuming when in the heat of battle.

Presets->Auto Presets->On Startup->[NONE]

Look the drop down menu "On Startup" should be at [NONE]

I suspect that the firmware just reset that setting and it's on another option from that dropdown menu, telling to to load a preset of key bindings.

You may be right. I'll check when it comes back from the camera dept.
