  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

This is in the current build. I have my top lcd button to switch between viewing modes. Its not there by default but you can program any programmable button to do so in the menu.
 
Plenty of things they could add, but my top priorities are:

-4k 24fps HDR
-phantom power
-improved power management

Custom arbitrary frame sizes and corresponding frame rates would be amazing as well... but only if it was stable.
 
What I really want, is to be able to shoot 4,5K (or maybe 4.4K) at WS mode. And it would be a plus for me to be able to shoot at 4K WS mode at higher frame rates (I would be very happy with 36FPS for instance)
 
Actually, a 4:3 @ 4k chip height would be great for anamorphic work..... 2800x2100, it comes out to 5.8MP. Less than 4k....

A full 3600x2700 @ lower compression could be cool too...... if at all possible.
 
1. HDMI and Hd-sdi out simultaneously!
2. Moveable 1:1 zoom
3. 4k hdr at 24fps
4. sleep mode / power saving

Second this, there are some advantages to mounting the Epic or Scarlet upside down for beamsplitter use and it would be nice to be able to view normally. (You can flip the screens pretty easily but then the menus are upside down :-) )

RE: autofocus slave agreed. (and I think he means send focus distance to slave)
 
I think custom frame sizes is interesting. If you have to modify your framesize to deal with vingetting let's say, doing it in camera would be awesome.
 
I'm happy with my Scarlet and still getting to know her whims and foibles, but I'll second the request for "everything that works in 24p to also work in 25p/50p" if at all possible technically, and for movable zoom in loupe for focus confirmation.

3296x2700 anamorphic at 24p is the only thing i'm missing. With that or below it would be the perfect DSMC for me. Fingers crossed.

Alright, can always wish for RED to listen:

how about control over power? I'd love to swap between my dionics and the side handle redvolts right in the menu. This would also overcome the problem of malfunction of the hot swap (which is my case :-( )

A lot of these have already been listed, but I've been keeping a list of my own:

- 120fps at 1k
- movable magnify selection (with memory of the last position)
- audio on playback
- phantom power
- PAL frendly fps options like 25p on 3k HDR and 50p on 2K
- ability to delete clips and delete last shot button
- flip image option
- frame store/input for overlaying reference pictures
- Adjustable rack focus speeds with more than 2 rack focus points
- Zoom/crop feed on SDI and HDMI to eliminate black boarders
- Flip option for the LCD
- Overclocking fps at higher fan speeds?
- Pre-record function
