  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet example

Same sensor and a lot of the parts are the same, so the images will pretty much look the same as the epic on the same settings.

Fashion film for Interview Magazine--A camera (head-on) Scarlet, B camera (side) Epic--admittedly black and white but the cameras intercut beautifully. They're the same beast, just sometimes the Scarlet has a tad more noise in underexposure, correct with proper blackshade...

Music video shot with no proper lights, no crew, just a scarlet and contax lenses:

I don't think of this as "outstanding" but I do think it shows the Scarlet is more than capturing footage that's on par with Epic quality. Difference is compression, high speed, slightly wider field of view, and grey/black body.... and $10,000.

Nice videos Ryan. I liked your other works too. I feel like I am in a similar boat as David. I am also looking to see some posted stills from a Scarlet 4k at 24-30 fps. I want see how they look. I wonder will I be able to get the right stills that I want with some consistency. Ryan, can you please post some stills from your Scarlet 4k videos shot at 23 to 30 fps?
