21? I'm 31 and I'm struggling to afford one, and I have my own company. Times change, I guess...

Hehe don't have my own company yet, but i'm going to shoot a 30-40 minutes car racing documentary with a Sony Pdx 10 for a school assignment next week. Gotta climb a lot of steps before the red....but I so desperately want itt :crying:

That's the right attitude that'll get you there :)

Where? All I see is Scarlet with the words "Coming soon..." under it...?

www.red.com/press go click on "more".
Here's what it says:
"As of October 1st, 2010, these 3 cameras are still in development, with a target for the first launch, Scarlet 2/3 Fixed, being early 2011."

As you may have gathered by that it also mentions that the Scarlet line is now 3 cameras: 2/3 fixed, 2/3 (no longer cinema) and S35. So long Scarlet 645.

Thanks for the link, I missed that one.

Thanks for pointing that out Eren ... one thing I LOVE about that is that
it says "Epic's release at the end of 2010" ... which is great news.

Obviously, it's subject to change. But hopefully that at least means
that Stage 2 will open up before the end of the year and Stage 3 will
kick off shortly thereafter. :smilielol5:

I do not se the word 'more' anywhere at red.com nor can I find these words.
Can you be more precise as to where you are reading this?

What is Scarlet 645??
And what about Scarlet FF35?

Am I the only one who saw "a burst rate up to 120fps" for 3K Scarlet? Wasn't it supposed to do up to 120 fps continuously, with a maximum burst rate of 150 fps?

Yeah I caught that too. Also contradicts with this:
Pros:
HDRx™™
Very flexible data rates / compression ratios
No line skipping
150fps (higher at 2k)
Modular
Ethernet
Timecode
REDmote
CF, SSD, and upgradeable in the future
and lots more...

Cons:
Not true about the DOF. Graeme and I shot some tests for DOF and were able to get some awesome bokeh.

well they are asking for corrections could be a typo, or not, spec could have changed but I'm not going to get worked up over it until these things are final.

and I believe the other scarlets are using the monstro sensor which is a different program all together hence why they are not mentioned in this product release schedule.

FF35 is Monstro no? I didn’t see anything about Monstro on the site. I think they’ve just structured it around their current (and immediately imminent) products and wouldn’t worry about it. It was always a ways off anyway.

*EDIT*
Beat me to it Stephen. I agree about the Scarlet specs, no need to fret until there’s a buy it now button. Those will be the specs you’ll really have.

As of this month Jim already confirmed FF35 is still in development and planned for release. But it will also be changing in price/specifications as a result of HDRx.
