as happy as i am to see other people already received theirs.....
i already had funds for a scarlet kit in my red account last week, ready to pick up early this week to get ready for a shoot this weekend....while trying to figure out what to get (accessories, media,....), i came across this thread sunday night at around 8pm...needless to say i clicked the link....bought the brain, saved quite a bit! super happy!
except.... that it is friday...i haven't even received a shipping confirmation....i had to cancel my shoot for the weekend....
i am based in LA, was actually looking forward to picking up in irvine, especially after going to the RED retail store a couple of times, meeting the great people there and getting a good idea of what i would need/want.....i was told that pick up would delay my order, (so that was out) and the latest i have heard is that HOPEFULLY i will get my kit next week....hopefully....
again, i am really happy for all the people who already received their new baby but it is a little strange to hear that people in korea and florida who ordered AFTER i did already received it and mine hasn't even shipped? or i can't pick one up?
like i said, my first experience with RED was at the store and it could not have been better....i am also pretty sure that this is not my rep's fault (why would it?)....just leaves a bad taste....
don't get me wrong.....if i would have made my mind up 1 day earlier (friday) i would have a scarlet but a lot less cash for lenses and other fun stuff.....so i am not complaining....i also understand that a lot of cameras have to go through quality control and such.....so i understand that i have to wait for a while....
but orders placed first should ship first.....especially since i had paid before i even placed the order....
Hi Paul,
Believe me we want to get your camera ASAP, all departments are working at full speed.
Are there any of these cameras left? Anyone in Sweden who bought one who can tell me what the final price ends up at (including tariff's and taxes) ?
Very interested in this deal, but it's quite hard to get a hold of the final price.
Are there any SSD's, batteries and such included in this or is it camera only? What type of Canon mount? Is it working with EF-lenses?

Saddly you missed it.
It was brain only with Red Canon EF mount.
Cheers,
Damien
I'm still waiting for one of you to change your mind...
I don't know...according to an earlier post anyone who sells their Scarlet is a dirtbag. Wait....doesn't RED sell Scarlets? So confused about the rules....perhaps the person who posted about dirtbags will let us know who is allowed to sell their camera and, if so, under what circumstances.
However if you expressly bought one of these to flip, it's easy to see why the people who actually want one (but didn't order in time) would think you're a bit of a dick.
I see the buyer-resellers as filling a need. For the ones who hadn't heard about the Great BT Scarlet event whether through complacency or just otherwise occupied, the resellers are sort of just holding them a place in line for a fee. Nothing dishonorable in that IMO.You're only a dirtbag if you bought one of these $7100 BT Scarlets with the sole intention of selling it at a premium. Like those douchebags that buy consoles/iphones/latest-trend at launch knowing they can flip them on eBay for more than retail. I mean, don't get me wrong, if you didn't realize how much is involved with owning/operating RED, it'd be difficult to turn down "free" money. However if you expressly bought one of these to flip, it's easy to see why the people who actually want one (but didn't order in time) would think you're a bit of a dick.
The worst part about the resale of these BT-Ss is that, if you do decide to bail out after receiving it (regardless of the reason), the person buying from you is forced to pay RED $850 for the ownership transfer fee/90-day warranty and doesn't have the option for RED armour (which is a lose-lose for those secondary buyers).
This `business practice´ might qualify as `bad attitude´ - at least in my book of RED.... holding them a place in line for a fee.
